At the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, we gather over 40,000 people throughout our Thursday through Sunday event. People always respond with a variety of evaluations including those from this past 2011 RE Congress:
Evaluation on Mar 19, 2011 4:56 PM - It's always excellent.
Evaluation on Mar 20, 2011 3:15 PM - I had to attend via Webcast this year. It was wonderful to be able to "attend" all the way from Massachusetts. Hope to make it again in person next year! DV
Evaluation on Mar 20, 2011 4:03 PM - loved all of it this year...really good, even the lighting and beautiful sculpture hangings in the arena were spectacular!
The amazing thing about RE Congress is that it really is a remarkable experience because there are over 40,000 unique experiences of God's Voice being heard throughout this event. Because of this undeniable reality, RE Congress has grown immensely over the last 50 years, always striving to introduce others to the unique experience of hearing God's Voice. Starting out in a local Los Angeles High School in 1956 with some 500 teachers and catechists in attendence, this conference had outgrown its space quickly, moving to a LAX Airport Hotel, and then to the Anaheim Convention Center. From the Anaheim Convention Center, RE Congress again has realized that God's Voice is much bigger than the space we are in, so live-streaming some of the event became the next step. As with any ministry, RE Congress is constantly challenged to go beyond where it is... to allow God to be bigger than we've known or imagined. From the whisper to the shout, God's Voice prevails. It's up to us to share our experience this with others.
This year, with the theme Voice Infusing Life, we, as a Congress family, are moving into new opportunities to share our faith. With the "world getting smaller" as they say, with all the world at our fingertips with the web, we are called forth to a new spirit, to a new sharing of our experience of Congress, which invites us to use technology to tell our story! We are called to Be A Voice. Let us hear your stories. What is your unique experience of hearing God's voice at RE Congress? From volunteer in the registration area to choir member, from speaker to musician, from committee member to MC, from performer to artist, from attending a workshop to experiencing Sacrament, from praise and worship to dining with friends, from walking the exhibit hall to running into an old friend.... Where and how did your experience of God's Voice resound?
